How to Prepare for Exams Video

Create a (30 seconds) Video in After Effects listing facts about STUDY TIPS or HOW TO PREPARE FOR EXAMS.

Upload images and music to your video. Great opportunity to have your video played on Ridge TV during this semester.


Individually research facts and make sure its school appropriate, once you each have your own facts show me and start to work in AFTER EFFECTS making your 30 SECOND VIDEO. Must have a minimum of 5 facts.

QUICK TIPS

RESET WINDOW

If you lost some windows,
Top Menu > Window > Workspace > Standard

HEAR AUDIO & PREVIEW VIDEO
1. Press 0 (zero) (RAM Preview) on your Num Lock keyboard to render video and be able to hear the audio.

2. SPACEBAR to play/stop video after you have hit the 0

This is the standard preview and can be very slow if not rendered out. Great for short quick videos.

3. PRESS (.) to preview audio only

4. PRESS (ctrl or command) and scrub across the timeline to quickly preview audio and video.

CUT & SPLIT CLIPS

Cut clips - alt ]

Split clips  - top menu > edit > split layer

Clips can also be rolled up from either end

GROUP ITEMS

Select all items that you would like to group - top menu > Layer > Pre-compose

NEW TEXT & NEW SOLID BACKGROUNDS

Create a text layer - top menu > Layer > New Text

Create a solid layer - top menu > Layer > New Solid

ALIGN ITEMS

Make sure your align menu is showing

Top menu > Window > Align

Have item selected then choose your alignments

SPEED UP VIDEO

Top Menu > Layer > Time > Enable Time Remapping

Then adjust the keyframes

USE ANIMATION PRESET

If this is not showing, WINDOW > Effects & Presets
