Illustrator Assignments
Watch the video tutorial and then hand in your OWN designs. DO NOT just copy the design in the video. And be creative.
For all of the tutorials you will need to create concept sketches in your sketchbook. I am going to recommend that later you print out a coloured version of your vector design and add it to you sketchbook. This is great to showcase from concept to completion.

Illustrator Tutorial -
Object with Type Fill
Students will learn how to create an vector object from their drawing.
Class Assignment - Students will create at least 2 concept sketches in their sketchbook. Once approved, the student will create a vector version of their design.
> Sketches are to be shown to the teacher and .ai vector file will be uploaded to the classroom.
NOTE: There are many ways to import your sketch design. The video discusses a couple of ways. If you do not want to download the app or do not have access to a scanner; you can also take a picture of your sketch and email it to yourself.

Envelope Distort
Students will learn how to create an object with an envelope distort.
Class Assignment: Student will create 2 vector versions of their design (as shown in the video - 1 had a white background and the other had a black background)
> .ai vector file will be uploaded to the classroom.
NO NEED TO CREATE SKETCHES
NOTE: Once you 'Create Outlines' to your text it is now a shape and is NO longer a type that is editable.

Custom Brushes
Students will learn how to create their own brushes.
Class Assignment: Students will create their own custom brush. then create a design using the custom brush. Your page should include what the brush looks like on its own, then a design using it.
> Upload the .ai file to the classroom.

Students will learn how to create their own patterns.
Class Assignment: Students will create their own custom pattern. then create a design using the custom pattern. Your page should include what the pattern looks like on its own, then a design using it. Example a shape filled with the pattern.

Vector and Bitmap
Students will learn how to create an object with a vector and bitmap image.
Class Assignment: Student will create 1 vector versions of their design.

Feel free to find your own image to use. However make sure it is CCL image.

Textures
Students will learn how to create an object with a textured background.
Class Assignment: Students will create at least 2 concept sketches in their sketchbook. Once approved, the student will create 1 vector version of their design. For this project you do not need to find a logo. You can write something using a BOLD font type. You will need to find a pattern for the background of the text and one for the page background.
